ZM vs Pariah
A member of the world renowned Fresh Coast scene, Pariah is not always mentioned with his region’s heavyweights, but he is doing everything in his power to change that. With battles on camera as far back as four years ago, the San Francisco native has taken on some of the best from California, including well known battlers such as Tantrum and Reverse Live. Originally part of the now defunct Grindtime West Coast league, Pariah has made the transition into King of the Dot, being featured in both the Toronto and West Coast divisions. Known for his gravelly inflection, Pariah rounds out his battle skills with a commanding delivery and hard hitting punchlines used to decimate his opponents. Making another appearance in the KOTDWC ring, Pariah takes on East Coaster ZM in this release from Resurgence.
Yung ZM, known also as simply ZM, is another veteran of the battle circuit who has continued to make his name known after his “home” league, Grindtime, fell apart. Hailing from Philadelphia, ZM follows in the footsteps of many other great battlers that his city has produced. After getting his start 4 years ago, ZM has gone on to square off against some of the best in the game today, including Soul Khan, OShea and Syd Vicious. No stranger to the King of the Dot league, ZM has already performed on Canadian stages multiple times, including most recently against Big Mac. Making his first appearance in the KOTD West Coast division, ZM will have his hands will as he goes against heavy hitter Pariah in what was one of the best battles from the Resurgence event.

Battle brought to you in part by the Epsilon Project.

Lawd I’ve just seen a Nikki- before- she- was- Minaj-video with her all thugged out doo-ragged up, 20130308-151648.jpg

talking like a dude talking about how she and Remy Ma were um…..involved. I’m typing and watching as I speak and my jaw is on the floor. Seriously. I know I’m working too hard if I’m just now bucking up on this. Nikki even goes as far as to call Remy while on camera to prove that she not only “ate the box” but Remy was no longer interested. You hear Remy actually bang on Nikki. This is an old YouTube video, old enough where I see a flip cell phone. It’s also a FAR CRY from the Black Barbie with the alter egos who has apparently flipped her whole style….

French Montana

20130308-153308.jpgshows are apparently killer….literally. Bullets were flying after a show Montana put on in the City of Bloodily Love, Philadelphia, PA. He and his entourage pulled up in front of an Holiday Inn Express (really French? A Holiday Inn though?) Where a slew of fans were waiting to catch a glimpse after having followed him. In the blink of an eye a vehicle pulled up and two men were shot, one fatally. An arrest has since been made which is a good thing but I will say this: French itched my nerves tweeting that “he didn’t have time” for police questioning. Never mind the man was a fan and I’m sure spent some money to assist in getting him his chains. I can’t with these non humble emcees…

Which leads me into rolling my eyes at Kanye for continuing his tirades. Now he’s crying because MTV rated him number seven as one of “Hottest in the Game”. Yeezy is grumbling that MTV doesn’t like the “Givenchy Kanye” or “The Relationship Kanye”. It could be MTV is just over the whole obnoxious persona which be he.

MC Hammer was recently arrested during a traffic stop and claims he was a victim of racial profiling. Hammer aka Stanley Burrell claimed that the officer approached his car and asked was he on parole or probation (Hammer was pulled over in Dublin, California). As he handed the officer his ID, Burrell claims the officer attempted to pull him out of the car. I’m apt to believe that given California’s police departments volatile history when related to minorities. Please, Hammer…..don’t hurt ‘em.

Pusha-T

Pusha-T

In this episode, G.O.O.D. Music Recording Artist Pusha T tells the story about how he got into music because of his older brother/partner Malice. Who was always into Hip-Hop. He tells how his brother was rapping with Timbaland in middle school and how they ran into Pharrell Williams. With him being in the environment of these people writing and recording songs. He decided to join in and he wrote his first rap song titled “Thief Of The Night”. He says this became the start of the hip hop duo “Clipse”.

Pusha also says the biggest part of being an artist for him, is seeing the crowd and the fans react to what he puts out in the market place.

Quote: “When I hear the term “Be Heard”, its just about having a voice. It’s about letting your thoughts and your opinions and your feelings be on display. You really open yourself up to scrutiny and everything else, but you know. You get to give the people what you want them to hear.” – Pusha T

Watch him end the session with an “off the dome” freestyle.

Loe Pesci vs. Sketch Menace
Having taken a brief step back from battling in order to continue managing his KOTD West division, Calgary president Sketch Menace is back in the ring. As one of the former King of the Dot champions, Sketch has proven that he is one of the best that Canada has to offer, having squared off against some of the best from North America to secure his position. Over the course of his career, the Calgary native has been in the ring with PH, Dirtbag Dan, Anecdote, and Bender, the latter of whom the title chain was claimed from. After making a run in the 2 vs. 2 2011 Grand Prix with teammate Nebula, Sketch Menace kept himself busy running his division, hosting various events and taking the occasional battle. Utilizing a style that combines a confident performance with direct and heavy handed punchlines, Sketch is not an emcee to be taken lightly in the battle circuit. Now taking on Loe Pesci, Sketch will have his hands full as he faces one of his toughest opponents yet.
One of the best battlers that Canada has to offer, Loe Pesci has succeeded in making himself one of the most polarizing emcees in the league. With his signature practiced ambivalence, Pesci has earned himself a unique reputation built on his often faulty memory and vicious battling persona. Not always as prepared as he maybe should be, when the Montreal resident brings his A game, there are very few, if any, battlers in the world who can hang with him. Known for never pulling punches, Loe often goes for the neck with reckless abandon, mixing a brash delivery with a deadly pen game. With classic battles against fellow veterans Bender, Marv Won and Ness Lee, Pesci was also the first Canadian battler to be invited to battle in New York City, beating a young DNA in his hometown. Also a former KOTD president, the manager of the Montreal division faces off against the Calgary division leader in this clash of top tier Canadians.
