CL

Founded in 2011, Tracker is a line of clothing dedicated to the garments made and worn by the originators of the great American West. By way of tracking and trapping, hunting and gathering, it was on the strong backs of our nation’s forebears that the earliest creations of American dress were designed. American Indians and European mountain men alike relied heavily on their garments to let outsiders know the value of their significance. Tracker is re-imagining these pieces to give today’s originators the chance to exhibit their own power of character.

Whatup World?!…Once again its The Flyest Alive, CL(the)FlyGuy. I didnt plan on doing this, but I was inspired by memories of Michael Jackson yesterday(his birthday) and decided to dedicate this column to him! Michael influenced the world with his style in a lot of different ways. From the glove, to the fedoras, to the military and royal uniforms, etc. One of the more uncelebrated style genius moves that Michael made was rockin black loafers with white socks. I hear it all started around the time of the Off the Wall album photoshoot in 1979. International designer Mike Salisbury developed some concepts for the Off The Wall album cover after being called to Michaels agents office. He thought the album cover should make the statement that MJs solo debut was as big as Sinatra coming on stage in Vegas. He said, “I explained the concept by pointing to a fashion type drawing and saying, I put him in a tuxedo. That says big deal! The agent hemmed and hawed and was just about to dismiss the whole nutty idea when a little, high-pitched voice softly squeaked, ‘I like it, and Michael stepped out from behind the drape covering the large office window. ‘Lets just do it, he said, and so we did. I want to wear white socks, Michael whispered to me.”
