Jimmy Fallon To Host The Roots’ 7th Annual Pre-Grammy Jam Session

Hip-Hop band The Roots will host their 7th Annual Roots Jam Session on February 12th, with TV star Jimmy Fallon acting as host of the event.

The Roots, who were nominated for a total of six Grammy’s for their albums How I Got Over and Wake Up! with John Legend, have partnered with Hennessy Artistry and a new grassroots organization that will launch during the jam, OpportunityNation.com.

The new organization will launch a nationwide campaign that focuses on the revitalization of the “American Dream” through forums and discussions.

“Were extremely proud and humbled that what began as a simple night to put the focus back on the music has become an amazing opportunity to unite both major artists and new talent in an impromptu musical collaboration unlike many other experiences in the industry today, while also providing a voice to some extremely worthwhile cause campaigns,” the Roots’ famed drummer, Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson.

The 53rd Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on February 13th, at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, California.
